Summary: This large old house is full of atmosphere and character, but has been sensitively modernised to include all the necessary modern conveniences, while retaining many original features. It is ideal for a family or two couples as the bedrooms ( 1+3)are separated by the upstairs sitting room, with a bathroom in each wing. It is very well equipped, with a plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out and the terrace and garden are ideal for relaxing in the sun. It is in a charming old village, with the baker right next door and a small supermarket within walking distance. The village is peaceful and quiet and the local people were very friendly. Poulx is an ideal location for visiting the many attractions in the local area, and our explorations included Pont du Gard, Arles, Nimes, Montpellier, Avignon, the Camargue and the Cévennes. The owner, Marine, met us on arrival and kept in touch via text to ensure that our stay was going smoothly and to suggest places to visit. She quickly responded to a couple of problems we had early on in our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fascinating area and fascinating old house.
