The accommodation is in an old village house, restored and redone with love and respect for old buildings. Stone walls and vaulted ceilings have been preserved. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with queen beds; a bedroom with single bed (through which one goes to go to one of the double bedrooms); a dressing room; and toilets. We go up again to reach an additional bedroom, which has been converted into an attic - it has a limited height and would be better for children. There is a balcony with magnificent views over the valley and, at a distance, the sea.

On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a living room with TV and fireplace, as well as a table, a well-appointed kitchen, a bathroom, and an additional toilet. We have kept as many old features as possible, including the vaulted ceilings, to preserve the atmosphere of our family home.

Outside is a garden with table, chairs, BBQ, etc from where there is a view over the whole valley, and on large slopes covered with scrub opposite. A few steps from the kitchen, it is ideal for meals. Everything is calm and quiet, away from the roads; winged wildlife abounds, including kites that often hover across the valley.

The accommodation is in an old village house, lovingly restored and modernized, retaining stone walls and vaulted ceilings. Upstairs there are 2 rooms with double beds; one room with a single bed (you must pass through this to one of the double rooms); a dressing room for clothes etc .; and a toilet. Upstairs again, under the eaves, is an extra sleeping space with double bed - this has low headroom and would be best for children. There is a balcony with a splendid view of the valley and the distant sea.

On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, salon / lounge with TV, fireplace and a table, well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and an additional (separate) toilet. We have kept as many original features as we can, including traditional vaulted ceilings, to retain the feeling of our family house.

Outside there is a garden with seats and a table, barbecue etc. This overlooks the entire valley, with steep maquis-clad hills sweeping up opposite. It is ideal for taking meals - just a few steps from the kitchen. The situation is very quiet and peaceful, well away from roads; bird life abounds, including the red kites who glide across frequently.

The district

Occhiatana is a typical Corsican village. 3 km away is Belgodère, which is a larger village where there are a few shops, restaurants and other amenities. The area is quite unspoiled, but nearby is L'Ile Rousse, which is a lively and tourist town with a beach, lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc ... Half an hour away, we can also find the Tartagine valley, breathtakingly beautiful, surrounded by magnificent mountains.

Occhiatana is a typical Corsican village. Just 3 km away is the larger village of Belgodere, with a few shops, restaurants and other facilities. This is a completely unspoilt part of Corsica, yet within reach of the sea and the lively resort town of L'Ile Rousse. Just half an hour away, through winding mountain roads, is the breathtakingly beautiful valley of the Tartagine, surrounded by towering mountains.
